I’ve had direct experiences that speak to this, but not for a long time. So I find myself in the position of sometimes exploring esoteric topics I have less and less direct experience of. It’s a weird position.

Re: your point that a lot of contemporary spirituality focuses on the "inner" rather than the "outer" really resonated with me. You might be interested in Vajrayana Buddhism too. As a long-time reader, have you ever considered writing a book to expand the above essay further? I think a book is a better mechanism to learn and share knowledge as it pushes a writer to think beyond writing a few pages of an essay.

Thanks- many people have recommended Chapman’s writing but I’ve found it hard to understand, is there something you like?
