"But over the last few months, I realized I hadn’t actually returned with the boon, the treasure. This is presence, and it lies within us." ... reading this filled me with unadulterated joy.
Great piece, thank you for sharing. Fully with you that Moana has got to be one of the best Disney films, if not kid films full stop.
One thing I noticed on the dozens of watching with my daughter is the colour coding of the film as it relates to the chakras. E.g red / fire for Ta-Ka (root), green for the heart (Te-Fiti), blue for Maui’s hook (the throat chakra is associated with change and shapeshifting), and then indigo/purple for the visions of her grandmother and ancestors which relates to the third eye.
Thank you for providing a space where it actually feels relevant and appropriate to share nerdy spiritual interpretations of children’s stories! It doesn’t always land when chatting with random parents at kids parties 😂
What a beautiful and resonant piece about the courage and patience we need to sense and bring forth our hidden treasures.
“I felt that I was leaving part of myself behind, and that wherever I went afterwards, I should feel the lack of it, and search for it hopelessly, as ghosts are said to do, frequenting the spots where they buried material treasure without which they cannot pay their way to the nether world.”
I love the art by Ron Decker titled “Putting My Monsters To Bed” — when you realize the monsters are there to help you, not hurt you, the whole game changes 🌟 I haven't heard of the "latch" theory but it makes a lot of sense to me and I look forward to exploring that more, thanks for putting it on my radar! Thinking of dreams as a mechanism to access a "release password" rings really true too - and sometimes for me it's literally waking up yelling a word that is the key.
I've had similar dreams about internal, futile battles. Similarly, I've found benefit from befriending those fighting. I believe they are Parts of the old regime that flail about whenever we are making a change for the better. Dreams might be an opening channel for a direct dialogue with your unconscious. Keep watching them!

Hey, nobody said I found it yet… but thank you

Someone knew what they were doing :)
Wooooah never noticed that

I feel like the Always Sunny meme in most conversations. It’s why I had to start leading edge…

Woof what a powerful quote.
I will never be sick of hearing about your personal healing journey! Thank you for writing about it.
Ah thanks so much Ellen! I’m worried it’s too detailed or personal. Think some weird stuff is coming up soon!
Can't wait! :)
🙏🙏🙏
Love this piece tom.
♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so much for this - it's genuinely generous and helpful and inspiring!
Thank you, David. I’m probably testing everyone’s patience for my personal story at this point, but it at least helps me contextualize my own journey.
