Thank you! It’s amazing how learning one character informs you on an entire system. Really enjoying your variety with the last few posts. Keep at it and keep exploring. ☺️
I guess that's what an archetype is- a single generalization that accurately describes an entire host of examples. I just wish more people understood the difference between toxic boys and truly secure men. The alpha doesn't just bring down the most game, they also share the most with the tribe.
Yes exactly! As I've gone through the masculine archetypes I realized each have a "moral of the story" which I equate to spiritual lessons we're all here to learn. The characters simply personify the teachings. Your observation is also what motivates my work. There's a painful simplification of masculinity = toxicity. Everything has a spectrum, it's the degrees that deserve dialogue. But the narrative as vilified men as a whole, which is a host of a completely new set of problems.
Loved this, Tom! Lucky to have found your writing ;). This makes me interested to learn and think more about the relationship between luck and karma. Any thoughts on that?
Also just my two cents, but I would've tried a catchier headline: "The One Way You Can Manifest Success," "Manifestation Isn't BS, But Only If You're Lucky," "How to Successfully Manifest." Or something like that. Wish Substack allowed A/B testing.
Fantastic read! It all comes down to attitude. There is a beautiful book on the topic by Adam Ashton and Adam Jones called Attitude. One of them was a guest on my podcast. They host Australia's most successful book podcast. Great guys.
I think attitude helps, but also accuracy. One of the risks of manifestation is an unrealistically positive attitude to adversity. Sometimes negative experiences have a lot of value!
This is wonderfully written and very timely for me professionally. Shared with my friends.
Thanks Ted! Super kind of you. It takes me 5x longer to write the short clear ones than the long complicated articles ;)

Brilliant
Thank you! I recently loved your post on the King archetype to. It’s such a necessary concept we seem to have totally ignored.
Luck sounds much like faith. The energy of surrender, instead of the clinging energy of the obsessed mind.

Thanks Chris, I love the happy medium of catchy but not misleading. But also enough to generate a click. I am a long way from getting it right.
Makes sense. I like the term "legitbait", which comes from the worth-watching video, "Clickbait is Unreasonably Effective" by Veritasium
Such a timely piece for me to read. How lucky am I? ❤️
And I feel lucky to have a reader like you, thanks!

I hear you. I think that the negative can be a great motivator and an opportunity for a pivot!
Great article! I’ve never thought of manifesting as something negative (albeit futile) but it makes sense now…
Thanks mate! I actually have an inexplicable suspicion it can be an incredibly bad idea when taken to extremes.
Good points. I think that when it comes to manifestation, it's important that:
-our minds genuinely believe that our desired outcomes and goals are rationally, logically possible
-we think and feel as though we've already achieved our desired outcomes
-we feel contented and grateful, instead of feeling desperate and impatient about achieving those outcomes.
