This is the most phenomenal talk on shadow work, development work and coaching I have ever heard. The way the meaning/ money duality is tackled is simply mind-blowing.
I now know that I need to move forward in my development path, take on yey-yes-hell-no goals (hell no! I did not want to hear that) and face the shadows as they emerge, with the right container in place. Which is exactly what is happening as I slowly develop my coaching practice (hello no! once again).
Thanks, Tom and Brian.
The fact these information are available for anyone on Earth is a wonderful gift to all people on this path to meaning.
I agree with all these comments: Tom these conversations with Brian have been outstanding. Thank you. What would be your advice to find the right coach who can hold space for me as I develop my coaching work on this?
That’s an amazing piece.
My takeaways:
- keep your job until you have enough clients
- focus on a problem you’ve solved for yourself *
* in my case: learning how to be with myself 🌱
Al excellent starting points IMO. I ignored all of them and failed (initially).
To then drop 1on1 work and focus on the community?
I vastly prefer this kind of work, but I do now coach 1:1 privately as well. I could only do it after I'd solved my own transition, not during!
But what if solving the transition implies engaging in a new professional life pact and offering coaching services?
It might clearly be a story I’m telling myself, but I struggle to see any “solving” without taking action on these points.
Well it happens that we have an interview on this precise topic pending in part 2 this week...
So glad I came across your work yesterday. This post is just what I need as I continue to grow my coaching practice. Can't wait to listen!
You’re welcome: I made every mistake so hopefully nobody else has to.
