Your observation on " Earth as a school for evolution of consciousness" resonates (pun intended) with me. I'm a fan of the book Journey of Souls, and I find a lot of logic in the simulation theory of Thomas Campbell. I've got an essay in the queue coming out in a couple of weeks that explores the idea that we instantiate here on Earth to learn, grow, and mature our souls. It's not a one-and-done, hope we were born into the right religion, pray we said the magic words with enough faith to avoid hell sort of thing.
"In Ra’s worldview the purpose of our existence is to choose our form of service: doing what we love in service of love. It’s becoming increasingly clear to me that energetic attunement is key to making the right choices that lead you to the harmonization point. And that niche is as unique as you are."
Growing up, I felt like an oddball, following curiosity to many fields at the local libraries, becoming a missionary (Hong Kong), spending 10 years learning to become a nurse anesthesiologist, and now taking what I've learned and building 1 minute left->right hemispheric practices.
The unique niche, marching to one's own drummer, being pulled to develop and apply talents from love, and enjoying working purposefully everyday resonates.
I've been diving deep into my own Fisher King wound, and this question of whom the Grail serves.
Who or what does my profound capacity to love serve? This is the inquiry and the place from which I have entered the forest.
My sense is that it's "true," we are spiritual being sharing the human story between it's selves. In which case, technologies are meant to serve the deepest awakening of love possible.. and the possibilities are for us to discover, and create, rather than being enforced or pre-determined.
Thanks Tom, for continuing to follow up on the most taboo subject of them all.
At some point, the money and investment strategies etc will have no choice but to follow.
Some day rather than "follow the money" we'll be saying, "follow the call" or similar.
Thanks Bret. It’s an awful struggle. But it might be the actual point which gives it a nobility beyond what contemporary society would have you believe.
Somehow I just discovered this article even though it was published back in May. Great piece.
With regard to this part:
"I suspect the most immediate benefit of technology generally, and artificial intelligence specifically, is that it will save us from the meaningless suffering of unconsciousness by reducing the drudgery of inhuman work."
Due to the nature of my work, I use AI daily for a number of tasks, from programming to copywriting, and the sheer speed at which we are becoming dependent on it to do the thinking work for us is staggering. While it is possible this technology liberates us, it is also within the realm of possibility that it will ultimately entrap us in an illusion of reality and stop us from evolving our consciousness in the first place. The key problem with AI is that it excels at remixing existing knowledge and giving the impression of novelty, when in fact no truly new knowledge is being created or shared.
Again another excellent read Tom. More morphic resonance around the Law of One. Explains why I have recently been obsessed with it recently. I suspect this is becoming more and more widespread.
Thanks Declan. When I interviewed the original scribe Jim recently it seemed pretty clear that he felt Ra’s forecasts were coming now. The most woo interpretation is that this is why more people are noticing his work.
The Earth as a school runs through quite a lot of teachings.
My own spiritual path A Course in Miracles lays it out like this...
You have three choices with the world you perceive.
1 . The world is a play ground, a bucket list, go have fun, it's a short life. That's a fairly common attitude.
2. Life is a kind of prison, life's a bitch and then you die, so fuck it, just do what you like.
Both 1&2 or combinations of, are pretty unsatisfactory ways of living.
The 3rd way...
Life is a classroom where you grow through forgiveness experiences. As you mature through the process of forgiveness you awaken from the dream of separation.
Forgiveness in A Course in Miracles is not exactly the same as the common understanding of forgiveness.
But yeah living life as if it's a classroom gives life tremendous meaning and purpose.
One thing that I have got from studying A Course in Miracles (ACIM) is the understanding that karma is without foundation. Not that it isn't perhaps helpful as a kind of poetic learning device, but as a operational force its non existent. This understanding goes some way to clear the process of awakening. However I do appreciate people use the word Karma to mean many things..
Sooner or later we all walk the path with forgiveness as our teacher. It doesn't matter what you do, forgiveness begins to be the only sane path. That's been my experience, and seeing the immense suffering in the world due to people and whole cultures refusing to engage in forgiveness is heartbreaking. To have forgiveness central to a spiritual system give us a kind of hack in the illusion of separation. The fruits of forgiveness once tasted also gives motivation to just go for it in life, because forgiveness has your back. So forgiveness because a kind of caffeine for the soul...it's dependable.
Sounds like a wonderful adventure into Templar lore. The symbolism of the Grail is one that has always resonated with me. For me, the Grail myth is about the archetypal human search for a source of ultimate fulfillment, whether that means God, awake awareness, love itself... as well as for something that can heal the primal wound that leads to our present Wasteland consciousness.
I also wonder, like Tarnas, if this mistake is deliberate. That we meant to become prodigal so we would learn to be truly independent, separate, before reunion with the feminine. Hopefully that can happen without too much of a crisis.
Too much of a crisis? I’m afraid we’re neck deep in it already! I just hope the re-awakening of wisdom—especially for leaders—can somehow outpace the wholesale destruction our civilization is currently engaged in. It looks to be a close race.
What an incredibly enlightening and mysterious article (with a few more 🕳️ for me haha), Tom!
When you say "knowledge work increasingly becomes wisdom work" which feels directionally and intuitively true to me, what does this mean for our children? How can they advance on their consciousness path if they they are "handed" (is that the way to look at it though!?) shortcuts?
Ra as a progressive force is aligned with the core of LDS cosmology/theology:
“God himself, finding he was in the midst of spirits and glory, because he was more intelligent, saw proper to institute laws whereby the rest could have a privilege to advance like himself. The relationship we have with God places us in a situation to advance in knowledge. He has power to institute laws to instruct the weaker intelligences, that they may be exalted with Himself, so that they might have one glory upon another, and all that knowledge, power, glory, and intelligence, which is requisite in order to save them in the world of spirits.”
Coincidentally, there are also ties between Masonic rituals and our temples, with the temples restoring the Spiritual and eternal contexts in which those rights happen—they have the express purpose of preparing us to enter the presence of God.
Having gone (hundreds of times), it is a deeply spiritual experience.
If you haven’t yet explored that area you might get some new connections there, too.
Another well written article Tom. I know you're researching the role of technology in the evolution of consciousness but would this article read differently if your research was on - the role of consciousness in the evolution of technology? Isn't the whole idea that consciousness should permeate everything (finance, policy making, governance) for the type of change we want to see?
P.S - You may want to remove the 'woo rating meter'. Your readers should know by now that you're a 'woo -man'...(divine feminine fully activated)..Lol. No point warning anyone anymore . They either take you as your authentic self or leave you..I hope you get the humour

Oh, I’d be excited to read that! Please let me know when you’ve published it.

Thanks for the inspiration and validation.
Thanks Randy. It all only ever seems to make sense looking backwards. And the more you had faith, the better it went…

Here for the 10/10 woo rating. Thanks for taking me on an adventure, Indiana Jones!
I mean… Nobody would watch this movie. But it was certainly a fun bunch of coincidences.
I mean, I would maybe watch it if I woke up at 3:33am and couldn’t go back to sleep or write or read or anything.

Yeah it’s been a huge unlock for me too. Not as a thought experiment but as an increasingly realistic belief.

Maybe there’s a secret society already working for good, not evil, behind the scenes…

Thanks BK! It was just such a FUN week.
My comment was accidentally sent before I had completed it though…the location of the blue arrow is in a suboptimal spot.

Oh that’s interesting. It’s lovely to have a progressive force alongside entropy. Makes life so much more purposeful. And joyful.
